How our video production process works

Tell us what you're trying to achieve

Tell us a bit about your project, what you're thinking of making and what you need it to achieve. You don't need a finished brief.

We get to know your business

We talk about your audience, your goals and what success looks like, so whatever we recommend has a clear reason behind it.

We tell you what we think will work

We'll recommend the right approach and send you a clear quote, so you know what we're making, what it costs and what happens next.

We sort everything before filming

We shape the story, prepare scripts or interviews, arrange locations and build the schedule. Everything's ready before the cameras come out.

We film it properly

Our crew takes care of the cameras, lighting and sound while making sure everyone feels comfortable and we capture everything we need.

We bring everything together

We edit the story, refine the sound and colour, add any graphics and send you a first cut for feedback before delivering the finished film.

Your part in the process

We'll tell you what we need, when we need it

You don't need to manage the production yourself.

We'll guide you through each stage and let you know when we need input, feedback or approval. That might mean introducing us to the right people, reviewing a script or giving us feedback on an edit.

We'll handle the production while you focus on making sure the story is right.

Questions about the video production process

Most professional video productions have three main stages: pre-production, production and post-production. We break those into six clearer steps: contact, discovery, recommendations, planning, filming and delivery.

Pre-production is everything we organise before filming. Depending on the project, that can include creative development, scripts, interview questions, locations, contributors, crew, equipment and the filming schedule. Good pre-production makes everything that follows easier.

We'll need your input at key points, but you won't need to manage the production. We'll tell you what we need and when, then handle the planning, filming and post-production around you.

No. You don't even need a finished brief. If you know what you're trying to achieve, we can help work out the message, format and creative approach from there.

We arrive, set up the cameras, lighting and sound, then work through the filming schedule we've agreed with you. We'll guide contributors, review what we're capturing and make sure we have everything we need before we finish.

We'll send you a first cut so you can see how the film is coming together. You can send us your feedback, we'll make the agreed changes and repeat the process until the film is approved. We then finish the colour, sound and graphics before delivering the final files.
