The Women In Tech awards are reaching their conclusion ahead of the first ever event in October and our production team have spent the day speaking to the finalists at iCentrum on the Innovation Birmingham campus in the city centre. The Women In Tech awards judges have met with all of the shortlisted finalists and interviewed each one as part of the process of selecting who will be the winner in each of the eight categories. At the end of the day, a winner will be selected in each category which are:
- Start-Up Founder Award
- Apprentice Award
- Rising Star Award
- Academic Award
- Tech For Good award
- Innovator Award
- Best Digital Lead Award
- Shining Star Award

As the digital media partner for the event we have also been creating the animation slides to be shown during the event ranging from announcing the nominees and the winners through to holding slides while the proceedings take place on the stage. From a filming perspective, as well as the finalists days that we are filming at, we will also be filming on the night to capture the awards themselves and producing an overview highlight video. The video will be used to promote next year’s event giving an insight into the awards evening and also to encourage women to enter.
The awards ceremony will be held at Innovation Birmingham which is where our office is so it means that from an event filming point of view, we are familiar with the layout of the venue and how to set up for the event. We will actually find out who the winners are this week, once the judges have made their decisions but it will be a closely guarded secret until the event on 3rd of October.
