Solihull Council’s inward investment initiative, UK Central, has commissioned CMA Video to create their corporate video production showcasing the facilities, attractions and benefits of the borough. Focusing on many different aspects of what is on offer in Solihull, we were tasked with filming business elements, leisure and tourism and housing and community aspects of life in Solihull.
The project involved our crew working with many of the key stakeholders in Solihull to gain access for filming including Birmingham Airport, the NEC, Touchwood shopping centre and even some of the greenfield sites earmarked for the HS2 rail link development. The filming requirements included drone filming at Blythe Valley Business Park and one of the fields featuring the HS2 route as well as time lapse photography at a number of sites including the M42 motorway and Solihull town centre. The CMA Video crew were granted exclusive access to Birmingham Airport allowing the cameramen to film the runways from one of the highest vantage points at the airport as we filmed planes taking off and landing.
The video will be used to promote the UK Central initiative but it is specifically being used in the first instance to show a Chinese delegation to Solihull all of the attractions and facilities on offer. The video features specific footage of the first direct flight from China to arrive at Birmingham Airport and also footage provided by the NEC showing the size and scope of the NEC site as well as the new Genting Resorts World facility on the NEC complex.
High profile businesses in Solihull were also featured in the corporate video production including Land Rover, Fujitsu, Arup and Oracle to demonstrate the business offering on offer in the borough as well as the likes of Solihull College. Finally we also captured footage that demonstrated the lifestyle and living in Solihull.

This corporate video production demonstrated almost all of the different capabilities of the CMA Video production crew from time lapse and drone filming to after effects in post production. The UK Central vido will be used on the organisation’s website as well as being used overseas to showcase Solihull to foreign investors.
