Our events and sports filming portfolio was further extended with the addition of the Coventry Half Marathon in March. Drawing on our experience from creating a half marathon video for the Birmingham event our crew filmed the whole event from start to finish.
Working on behalf of Coventry BID and in conjunction with the city council we had two crews covering not only the running but also the activities in and around the event village too. Our brief was to focus on the setting up early in the morning which included preparing the runner’s goody bags and the official warm up all the way through to the start of the event, the children’s mini run and, of course, capturing the runners as they finish the course. Amongst all of the action we also interviewed the runners and got key soundbites from some of the prominent figures from Coventry BID.
Our cameramen were stationed in the key areas including on the main platform at the start line (pictured) and at vantage points to get an overview of the scale of the event.The event is part of a larger project working with Coventry BID as we showcase all of the exciting projects taking part in the city throughout 2017.
Our experience of producing a half marathon video extends back to the launch of the Birmingham half marathon in 2009 when our team worked with Birmingham city council and EDF Energy to produce a series of videos featuring Mo Farah, Sharon Davies and Roger Black.
