CMA Video has been shortlisted for the FedEx Small Business Grant award following on from a successful application for the nationwide award. Organised by the UK arm of the parcel delivery company, the FedEx Small Business Grant is aimed at SME businesses who are looking to expand or grow their business with a particular focus on international growth. The grant will be awarded to the business that has the best and most compelling plan for growth and expansion. The top prize on offer is a grant of £20,000 with a second prize of £10,000 and the winners will be announced in January.
At the time of writing there were no other video production companies in Birmingham or elsewhere for that matter that had entered which, we hope, will mean that we will stand out in our industry sector. The winning business also gets a promotional video to showcase what they do which would be a welcome change from us being on the other side of the camera.
The initial entry stage asked just a few simple questions including a general ‘about the business’ as well as ‘what inspired you to start the business’ and ‘how would the business use the money’ from an international growth perspective.
Speaking about the entry and the successful shortlisting, CMA Video director Adam Snelleksz said:
“We are delighted to be shortlisted for the FedEx Small Business Grant award. There are a lot of companies who have made it through this first stage so there is a long way to go but just to be shortlisted is, in itself, an achievement for us. It would be amazing to win one of the prizes and it could make a huge difference to our growth plans if we were to be successful. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that we can go further in the process.”
The process continues until the 7th December when the final 10 businesses will be announced and the overall winner of the £20,000 grant will be announced in January along with the runner-up prize of £10,000. More details about the FedEx Small Business Grant can be found here.
