Facebook Live Filming For Coventry BID

Facebook Live Filming For Coventry BID

Facebook Live filming is becoming increasingly popular and influential in the video content market and we have been working with Coventry Business Improvement District (BID) on a project based around the platform. Our production team have invested in the necessary equipment to broadcast on the Facebook Live platform using our high level equipment instead of using mobile phones as most people broadcast to Facebook Live use.  We are using Livestream equipment which allows us to film and broadcast through the studio software to the desired platform, in this case Facebook Live but also the likes of YouTube Live Events, Periscope and Twitch.

The purpose of the Facebook Live campaign is to promote Coventry BID’s ‘We Are Christmas’ festive campaign.  The campaign is based around bringing more shoppers into Coventry city centre with a loyalty card style competition.  The live broadcasts announce the winner for that week with a top prize of £4000 on offer in the final week before Christmas.

The live streaming is hosted by JD and Roisin from Free Radio’s breakfast show which also adds an extra level of professionalism to the broadcasts.  Working with professional broadcasters makes for a more engaging and slicker production rather than some of the other live streaming productions that we researched that uses amateur presenters or hosts with no presenting experience.

Our social media team has also been working on the promotion of the broadcasts with behind the scenes videos, like the one below, which give an indication of how the broadcast is put together and what the video production in Coventry is set up.

Some of the locations that we have filmed in and around Coventry include Samoan Joes Tiki Bar in Spon Street, Coventry Cathedral and Santa’s grotto in West Orchards shopping centre.  We have also experimented with an interactive element of the broadcasts where a question is asked during the broadcast and viewers are encouraged to give their answer in the comments section on Facebook.  The basic premise is to involve the viewers as much as possible to engage with not only the businesses but the public to encourage shoppers to spend in the city centre shops who are all members of Coventry BID.

The possibilities for live streaming events are endless and Coventry BID has looked to utilise some of the interactive elements that can be done through a Facebook Live broadcast.  Announcing the winner to a competition live on air is one way of doing that along with quiz questions where the viewers can interact in real time is another but there are plenty of other options to work on.

Our live streaming and broadcasting service allows for almost any type of event or situation that can be broadcast on almost any social media platform.  To find out more about how we can broadcast live your project call us on 0121 551 2079 or contact us here.
