Event Filming At The Birmingham Inclusive Sports Fest

Event Filming At The Birmingham Inclusive Sports Fest

For the fourth successive year we have undertaken the event filming element of the Birmingham Inclusive Sports Fest organised by sports body, Sport Birmingham. The festival of sport, which was first launched in 2013, is a week long celebration of disability sport which offers people of all ages the opportunity to take part in a range of activities across the city that they may not normally have the chance to do.

We have filmed this event every year at a variety of venues including the Alexander Stadium, Fox Hollies Leisure Centre and, the venue for the past two years, Queen Alexandra College in Harborne.  This year saw Paralympic skiing star, Anna Turney, appear as the ambassador for the event and wheelchair basketball player Mark Fosbrook also in attendance.  Chair of the Disability Sports Forum in Birmingham, April Barrett MBE hosted proceedings with participants of all ages taking part in the sports on offer including wheelchair basketball, golf, cycling, table cricket and kayaking.

Our event filming portfolio extends to a variety of sports events meaning that capturing the activities was familiar territory for our production crew, activities such as the visually impaired running aid were on display to showcase a new development in blind sport to help athletes with a sight impairment gain confidence running on their own.  The event this year coincided with the Paralympics in Rio and it was expected that the success of Team GB would filter down to the general public to be inspired and take part.
