Sea Life Centre Birmingham has been preparing for a new arrival to their extensive list of creatures with one of their sharks about to give birth. The black tip shark is going through much the same process as any new mum to be with scans taking place regularly to check the health of her pup and a team at the ready to deliver the pup when the shark is ready to give birth.
Categories included home cooked favourites, children and young people and showstoppers and were judged by the likes of Andy Waters of Waters Restaurant, Darryl Collins of the Genting Hotel and representatives from Hogarth’s Hotel. In addition jusdges also came from the Women’s Institute and Solihull College whose organisations were also supporting the Solihull Fairtrade event. The Mayor of Solihull was also on hand to give out prizes to the winners of the cake off categories.
Local companies were also asked to support Solihull Fairtrade events and activities which included ourselves as we made a Fairtrade pledge to use Fairtrade goods in our offices. CMA Video marketing manager, Adam Snelleksz said: “Its great for us to be involved in the Fairtrade movement here in Solihull as it helps to raise awareness for an important and worthwhile cause. Working with the council on the cake off event is great for us to work with the local community and help to promote the fact that Solihull is a Fairtrade borough. By pledging our support to use Fairtrade goods also means we are doing our bit to help too.”
The event helped to raise awareness of the Solihull Fairtrade activity as well as the fact that Solihull is a Fairtrade borough ahead of Fairtrade Fortnight which runs from 29th February to 13th March. Our video will be used by Solihull Fairtrade to promote the event in particular for next year’s cake off competition and will be a key part of the video marketing strategy for Solihull’s involvement in Fairtrade Fortnight.
