CMA Video filmed the festive celebrations in Coventry city centre this year working with the Coventry Business Improvement District (BID). The Christmas festivities were officially launched on Wednesday 23rd November in Coventry city centre, but CMA Video’s production teams had also been filming in and around the city to create a series of promotional videos which were shown during the event on the big screen in the build up to the Christmas lights switch on.
Many of the retailers and key landmarks around the city were been filmed to feature in several videos which were shown to the audience during the three hour show at Broadgate. CMA Video’s event filming crews were also filming the event on the night ranging from time lapse footage through to capturing the atmosphere and reactions of the crowd with X-Factor star Fleur East helping to switch on the city’s Christmas lights.
CMA Video marketing manager Adam Snelleksz said “We are delighted to be working with Coventry BID on this year’s lights switch on event. Its a fantastic event to be involved in and with our events filming expertise, our crews will be perfectly placed to capture all the excitement of the night. To create some of the video content to be shown on the night itself as well is great and we intend to show what Coventry’s BID members are all about from the brief we’ve been given. Following on from our events teams filming major conferences for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Lean Construction Institute in recent weeks this is another great event to be working on.”
The footage itself from the night will be used to create a promotional video demonstrating the events and work that Coventry BID does and will also help when preparations begin for Christmas in Coventry in 2017. In addition to the filming aspects of the brief, CMA Video’s animation team has also created a series of animated video shorts to be shown during the launch event meaning that its been a project that the whole production team has been involved in.
