Christmas In Coventry Video Production Project

Christmas In Coventry Video Production Project

This November has seen our Coventry video production project for their #WeAreChristmas campaign encompass many exciting and interesting filming briefs.  The climax to the project has been the Christmas lights switch on event held in Broadgate Square which featured singing star Alesha Dixon as the headline act.  However, our production team were tasked with creating the content that would appear on the big screen at the event as well as some of the video marketing content that Coventry BID used on their social media channels in the run up to the lights switch on event on 22nd November.

Firstly we filmed at IKEA with Free Radio’s breakfast show presenter, JD, for the IKEA Christmas Tree Challenge.  A player and the club mascot from Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey, Wasps RFC, Coventry City Football Club and Coventry Bears RLC all had three minutes to decorate a Christmas tree with the winner being chosen at the lights switch on event.  After the filming the four sports teams from Coventry video production turned to creating four separate highlight videos of each attempt and a social media promotional video too.

In addition to this we also created the official countdown video for the event which featured local businesses from the Coventry BID all shouting a number from on to ten.  The final video which was displayed on the big screen can be seen above.  Our animation video team also created a series of Christmas themed animations and mini cartoons which were also used on the night.

Having worked on the whole Coventry video production project throughout the year, our editing team also produced a promotional video that showcased all of the events that Coventry BID has staged throughout the year.  Again this video was used on the big screen for the 10,000 strong crowd to watch as they waited for the acts to come on stage.  This video can be seen below:

Finally, our production team’s involvement on the night saw the events captured to highlight the event itself and some of the acts and performances.  This ranged from filming the actual switching on of the lights to the crowd’s reaction and the star act, Alesha Dixon.  Our crew interviewed the X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent star backstage after her performance where she recorded a special message for the people of Coventry.

Our event filming team also undertook some GoPro filming in the crowd to get a close up look of some of the activity and to gauge some of the crowd reactions.  A particular highlight was the Jack Frost performance piece by Highly Sprung and Vortex which amazed the crowd with their dancing and movement routines.

Overall this Coventry video production project has utilised many of the different facets of our video production service from our animation video service to event filming to our editing service and straight forward corporate video production.
