More conference videography for our team at CMA Video saw the event filming crew work on a conference filming project for the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). The three day annual conference at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, known as Hazards, saw health and safety experts from across the world descend on Birmingham to hear from some of the foremost experts in the health and safety world.
Our brief began with filming the drinks reception in the evening of the first day to officially open the event before covering the rest of the conference Filming took place in the main hall of the ICC as well as one of the centre’s auditoriums as the event also featured a business expo and speeches and presentations from keynote speakers.
The brief included our conference filming team interviewing three categories of people at the conference – the organisers, the exhibitors and the delegates. The marketing team at IChemE had a strategic plan for the videos that we were tasked to create and these categories of attendees were all critical to the video strategy. We have advised other clients about using video in a more strategic way and IChemE had a plan in place to use video as a method to encourage sign ups and attendance at next year’s event.
Each of the interviews that our team captured had specific requirements about addressing areas around the Hazards conference in 2018 such as “Why attend Hazards” and “Why exhibit at Hazards”. Similarly there were soundbites from key, prominent figures in the industry to demonstrate the gravity and kudos of the event. As a result, a series of sales videos have been created to encourage companies to exhibit or delegates to attend.
The development of the video strategy for sales is something that we advise to clients and encourage businesses to think ahead rather than simply look at the current situation. Its easy to just look at a promotional video that displays what has happened at your event but some forward thinking can mean that you can capture a lot of relevant and interesting content which can be used for months to come if its planned properly.
